OMG! What a Wonderful Book!!!! Like every book I've read from Emma Scott so far, let me tell you in passing. She has a way of writing that always enchants me, bad only that I get a deep hangover after reading... LOL
Janey is an idealistic girl who wants to excel in the profession of journalist and who believes she can make a difference in a world at war. Her father, however, does not agree with this position and sends her to Paris to finish her studies, believing that he is protecting his daughter.
Arriving there Janey realizing that even having left the Vietnam War France is still suffering the consequences of it and it is in this scenario that Janey meets Adrien, a beautiful athlete who she believes to be only a vain man full of women.
Adrien is at the height of his college career, an athlete and a medical student, he is enchanted by the stubborn Janey who does not pay much attention to him beyond what is necessary to write her story about him. Now I tell you, the title should not be One Good Man but One Perfect Man, because he is an enchanted prince. I am truly in love with Adrien.
Gradually they discover each other and realize what they really want in life, creating true bonds of friendship and love.
With a light and dynamic writing, Emma Scott raises a very current social critique that is to live of luxuries, pleasures and futilities when in the world there are so many people suffering with the endless wars. Narrated in the first person by each protagonist, I loved too much how the writer built the story, I loved the characters, loved the inner struggles of the couple, loved the surprises and especially loved the end.Special highlight for Sophie, sister of Adrien and who is key piece in the plot.
For me the only sin of Emma Scott is sometimes not creating attractive covers and this ends up passing a message of just another romance novel with hot scenes to cure hangover when however they are books as wonderful and full of relevant messages as this one. Speaking of hot scenes, the writer overcame creating chilling moments spilling out sensuality and love.

Gente! Que livro Maravilhoso!!!! Como todos que li de Emma Scott até agora, diga-se de passagem. Ela tem uma forma de escrever que sempre me encanta, ruim só que fico com ressaca profunda depois... LOL
Janey é uma garota idealista que deseja se destacar na profissão de jornalista e que acredita que pode fazer a diferença num mundo em guerra. Seu pai porém, não concorda com esta postura e a manda para Paris para terminar os estudos, acreditando assim que está protegendo a filha.
Lá chegando, Janey percebendo que, mesmo tendo saído da guerra do Vietnam, a França ainda está sofrendo as consequências da mesma e é nesse cenário que Janey conhece Adrien, um lindo atleta que ela acredita ser só mais cara vaidoso e cheio de mulheres.
Adrien está no auge da carreira universitária, atleta e estudante de medicina, ele se encanta pela obstinada Janey que não dá muita atenção a ele além do necessário para escrever sua matéria. Agora te digo, o título não deveria ser Um Bom Homem e sim Um Homem Perfeito, porque ele é um príncipe encantado. Estou apaixonada verdadeiramente por Adrien.
Aos poucos, eles vão descobrindo um ao outro e percebendo o que realmente querem na vida, criando verdadeiros laços de amizade e amor.
Com uma escrita leve e dinâmica, Emma Scott levanta uma crítica social bem atual que é viver de luxos, prazeres e futilidades quando no mundo tem tanta gente sofrendo com as intermináveis guerras. Narrado na primeira pessoa por cada protagonista, amei demais como a escritora construiu a história, amei os personagens, amei os embates internos do casal, amei as surpresas e, sobretudo, amei muito o final.
Destaque especial para Sophie, irmã de Adrien e que é peça chave na trama.
Para mim, o único pecado de Emma Scott é, às vezes, não criar capas atrativas, e isso acaba passando uma mensagem de ser só mais um romance leve com cenas sensuais para curar ressaca quando, no entanto, são livros tão maravilhosos e cheios de mensagens relevantes como esse. Falando em cenas hot, a escritora se superou criando momentos arrepiantes extravasando sensualidade e amor. Lindo de viver.
